Ultrasonography uses high frequency sound waves to non-invasively look inside the body.
It is an extremely safe imaging modality that provides valuable diagnostic information about
numerous disease processes. Ultrasonography allows real time imaging of soft tissues
and can be used to monitor ongoing conditions, to facilitate fine needle aspirates and
to help guide needle biopsies of suspected lesions. Tissue and fluid samples
obtained during an Ultrasound Exam can be used for further analyses,
including cytology, histopathology, culture, and sensitivity.
Ultrasonography is hampered by the presence of air and bone (may be of limited use when
examining intra-thoracic lesions) and has decreased image quality in overweight patients.
Radiography and Ultrasonography are complimentary techniques that together
provide valuable diagnostic information about your patient.
We use state-of-art Ultrasonography Equipment including 16 MHz probe frequencies,
Power Doppler, Color Flow, Tissue Harmonics and many other advanced features.
A written report of our findings is provided at the end of each examination.
