is an ultrasound examination of the heart
We offer mobile echocardiograms for your small
animal patients, performed in house at your hospital or clinic.
An echocardiogram can be used to locate and aspirate pleural and pericardial
effusions, to evaluate cardiac chamber size and heart wall thickness, to measure
cardiac contractility (especially of the ventricles, called fractional shortening). We can also
provide valuable diagnostic information about the appearance and function of cardiac valves.
The cranial mediastinum and the cranial abdominal cavity can be examined for signs of heart-
related and other diseases.
